The quiet but very humid summer of 2011 ended with Diva JC floating away on Carnival Freedom to the Virgin Islands with pianist Jamila Sahar from September 10-18, as guests of Blacks Over 40 and they had a great time. See all photos at www.wijsf.com/photos.htm

Listen to the 100+ archived shows of Musicwomen Live. The brainchild of jazz/blues singer, composer, author and educator Diva Joan Cartwright, MUSICWOMAN is a phrase referring to dynamic women musicians around the world who compose and perform their own music. From July 2008 to December 2010, on her weekly Internet radio show, MUSICWOMAN LIVE! Diva JC interviewed women musicians and vocalists, featuring their original music. She also holds forums on the business of music, the healing qualities of music and the origins of jazz and blues. The archived program is sponsored by WOMEN IN JAZZ SOUTH FLORIDA, INC. founded by Joan in 2007, to document and promote women in jazz and blues.

  1. Hi Joan,

How are you? I hope all is well. I see you’re still keepin the music alive. I’ve been very busy and ready to release my new CD titled “Keep The Blues Alive”. I like to mail you a copy.

I just got my first distribution deal with a publicist, so the CD is getting really great reviews and radio play.

I just returned from Belgium and now headed to the Monterey Bay Blues Festival to play the main stage this year. My schedule is busy, but wouldn’t want it any other way.

I know you know a thing or two about that.

    Please respond at teenytucker@yahoo.com

    Kind Regards!
    Teeny Tucker
